At the Divine Liturgy at the Sign of the Theotokos Church in Montréal, Québec, Protodeacon Cyprian R Hutcheon was ordained to the Holy Priesthood.

The Priest Cyprian R Hutcheon was elevated to the dignity of archpriest.

The Archpriest Cyprian R Hutcheon was assigned to the Sign of the Theotokos Church as Second Priest.

At the Divine Liturgy at Holy Martyr Peter the Aleut’s Church in Calgary, Alberta, Deacon Richard René was ordained to the Holy Priesthood.

The Priest Richard René was assigned to Saint Peter’s Church as Second Priest.

At Saint Herman of Alaska’s Church in Langley, British Columbia, the Priest Nicholas Kondratyev was tonsured to be a Rasophor Monk, with the name Peter. Still a priest of the Moscow Patriarchate, he was attached at the Monastic Community of Saint Silouan in Johnstown, Ontario.

At the Divine Liturgy at Holy Resurrection Sobor in Vancouver, British Columbia, Deacon John Bingham was ordained to the Holy Priesthood.

The Priest John Bingham was attached to All Saints’ Monastery in Dewdney, as Priest-in-charge of a Fraser Valley mission outreach.

At the Divine Liturgy at Saint Mark’s Church in Yorkton, Saskatchewan, Protodeacon Andrew Piasta was ordained to the Holy Priesthood.

He was elevated to the dignity of archpriest.

Priest Teimuraz Suarishvili, of the Patriarchate of Georgia, was blessed to establish a Mission Station for Georgians in Toronto, Ontario.

Archpriest Anatoliy Mel’nyk was released from his responsibility as Rector of Holy Trinity Sobor in Winnipeg, Manitoba. He was assigned to be Acting Rector of Saints Peter and Paul Sobor in Montréal, Québec, as of 1 August.

Archpriest Alexander Janowski was released from his responsibility as Rector of Saints Peter and Paul Sobor in Montréal, Québec. He was granted retirement. He was attached at the Chapel of Saint Silouan in Johnstown, Ontario.

Priest Eugeniusz Zdrojewski, on loan from the Polish Orthodox Church, was assigned to be Priest-in-charge for six weeks, of Holy Trinity Sobor in Winnipeg, Manitoba.

The Mission Station of Saint John the Theologian was blessed in Vancouver, British Columbia.

Priest Justin Hewlett, remaining attached at Saint Herman of Alaska’s Church in Langley, British Columbia, was assigned to be Priest-in-charge of the Mission Station in Vancouver.

Archpriest Alexander Janowski was suspended from all functions of the Holy Priesthood until he showed repentance.

SEPTEMBER

The renewal of the Student and Faculty Chaplaincy at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, British Columbia, was blessed.

Priest Christopher Rigden-Briscall, remaining attached at Saint Herman of Alaska’s Church in Langley, British Columbia, was assigned to be Priest-in-charge of the chaplaincy.

Archpriest Orest Olekshy, in poor health, was released from his responsibility as Rector of Holy Resurrection Sobor in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. He was given Retirement. He remained attached to Holy Resurrection Sobor in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan with the title Pastor Emeritus.

The Georgian Mission Station in Toronto was blessed to be named for the Great Martyr George.

Priest Alexander Shkalov was released from his duties as Rector of the Mission of All Saints in Toronto, and from the Archdiocese of Canada. He was transferred to the Diocese of the West, and to the omophor of Bishop Tikhon (Fitzgerald), for assignment (which was to become San Diego).

Priest Oleg Razumov, on loan from the Archbishop of Paris of the Patriarchate of Constantinople, was assigned to be temporary Priest-in-charge of Holy Trinity Sobor in Winnipeg, Manitoba.

The Mission of All Saints of Alaska and Saint Arseny in Victory, British Columbia, was given the preliminary blessing to be a Parish. Full recognition was to be granted in 2006.

OCTOBER

Priestmonk Vladimir (Lysak) was recalled to the Archdiocese of Canada. He was attached provisionally at the Chapel of Saint Silouan in Johnstown, Ontario. He resided in Edmonton, Alberta.

NOVEMBER

In consideration of the small population of clergy and parishes in Manitoba, and in consideration of the past history, the two Deaneries of Saskatchewan and Manitoba were merged into one. The new Deanery became known as the Deanery of Manitoba-Saskatchewan.

In the context of a renewal of the combined Deanery of Manitoba-Saskatchewan, the Dean of Manitoba, the Priest Stephen Kennaugh, retaining his other responsibilities, became the Dean of the new Deanery of Manitoba-Saskatchewan.

In the context of a renewal of the combined Deanery of Manitoba and Saskatchewan, and of his retirement in September, the Archpriest Orest Olekshy was released from his duties as Dean of Saskatchewan, while his other duties and attachment remained the same.

In consideration of the fiftieth anniversary of the parish, and of the fruits of his time served there, the Igumen Philip (Speranza) was named Rector of Holy Trinity Church, Edmonton, Alberta.

In consideration of the fiftieth anniversary of the parish, and the fruits of the pastorate of the Priest-in-charge, and his having been given the responsibility as Rector, the Archpriest Dennis Pihach was released from his responsibility as Rector of Holy Trinity Church, Edmonton, while all his other responsibilities remained the same.

At the Divine Liturgy in Annunciation Cathedral in Ottawa, Ontario, the Subdeacon Alexei Vassiouchkine was ordained to the Holy Diaconate.

Deacon Alexei Vassiouchkine was attached at Christ the Saviour Russian Orthodox Sobor in Toronto, Ontario.

Archpriest Cyprian Hutcheon, in addition to his other duties, was assigned to be Archdiocesan Dean for the Archdiocese of Canada.

The re-opening of the Church of Saint John the Divine in Windsor, Ontario, was blessed, under the lay leadership of Michael Boyar.

The establishment of a Mission Station in Cranbrook, British Columbia, was blessed. The Mission Station was served from Calgary.
